Local Control. Common Sense. For Easton, Weston & Redding.
Darrell Harris is running for State Representative because the decisions that shape our towns — zoning, schools, property taxes — should be made by the people who actually live here, not dictated from Hartford.
Fighting for Easton, Weston & Redding
Local Control Over Zoning & Housing
Decisions about how our towns grow belong with local zoning boards and elected officials — not one-size-fits-all housing mandates from Hartford. Darrell will fight to protect our towns' ability to plan their own futures.
Real Property Tax Relief
Rising mill rates and underfunded state mandates are squeezing homeowners. Darrell will push Hartford to fully fund state special-education reimbursement obligations so the cost stops landing on local property taxpayers.
Local Control in Our Schools
Parents deserve transparency, and local boards — not Hartford — should set priorities for our schools. Darrell supports curriculum transparency and real mandate relief so more of every school dollar reaches our kids.
Supporting Our Seniors
Our seniors built these towns. Darrell will fight to raise the state's senior property-tax circuit breaker credit, which hasn't kept pace with the cost of living, so more seniors can afford to stay in their homes.
Public Safety & Strong Communities
Easton, Weston, and Redding rely on volunteer fire and EMS coverage. Darrell will make sure our towns get the state support they need to keep these essential services strong.
A neighbor, not a stranger to public service
Darrell Harris has called Easton home since 2019. He currently serves as Chair of the Easton Republican Town Committee, having previously chaired its Voter Committee — work focused on growing civic engagement in local elections. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Easton Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce, and previously served on the Easton Affordable Housing Subcommittee.
Professionally, Darrell most recently served as Director of Strategy and Human Performance for Progressive Health Dynamics, a medical diagnostic laboratory and behavioral health provider with offices in Trumbull and Shelton. Before that, he led Consumer Affairs for Wellinks, a virtual respiratory-health technology platform based in New Haven.
Darrell has been married to his wife, Katharine, since 2005, and they have one son, Elliot. The family worships at VOX Church in Fairfield; they previously attended St. Paul Westport, where Darrell served as President of the Congregation and Board Chair.
